Ran my first 50 feet through the GAF I keep talking about. The footage looks AMAZING! I used PLUS-X film and shot indoors and out and it looks like a GODARD movie. I am really suprised at how sharp the footage is. Especially the indoor shots. May I suggest using an orange filter for outdoor shots? It turned my footage into gold! Nothing was washed out and the greys really jumped off the screen well.
Anyway, I made another Flea Bay purchase. It's a ARGUS COSINA 704. I have the Wein Cell battery for the meter so hopefully it works! Anyone know about this cam?
Also, I'm looking for a good super 8 editor. Any suggestions?

I think the search engine for this forum has a topic on the Cosina, maybe???
Glad to hear your footage came out so good!
Goko's and Elmo's were considered good film viewers.
I like the Wurker Splicer best of all. Ciro is somewhat popular I think. Sometimes you get good explanations on ebay of Super-8 equipment that is being sold.

How did your filming go. What processing lab are you using?

The filming has been going very well but I've moved up from the GAF to a CANON 514-xl-s. Super nice camera with a lot of control. I like the fact that I don't have to use measuring tape to get something in focus because of the split screen rangefinder focus and it's got an amazing macro feature.
I use PAC LAB on 1st street in NYC. It's right down the block from my apartment.
I tried doing some fancy editing with a cheap BAIA viewer and a cement splicer and destroyed my first two rolls. So from now on I am going to edit digitally but it's so damned expensive! Plus I need to get a software program for my mac to edit on. I have IDVD and IMOVIE but I really want to get final cut pro.
The footage that was destroyed really looked great and it's ashame I lost it all. It looked very much like a GODARD movie since I shot it in black and white.
My next project is a music video for my band that I'm going to shoot it on the VISION2 system to get a real slick look to it.
Whew! What a mouthful!
